The Thornton Academy girls overcame another slow start on the road. After falling behind 16-12, the girls regrouped and went on a 19-4 run to take an 11 point lead into the 4th quarter. Abby Strickland had another double-digit rebounding night (13), while also leading the team in scoring (11). Olivia Shaw continued her steady play with 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 steals. Rivalry games are always a little tougher, but the girls played well as a team and found a way to get the job done.
Now on to the Gorham Rams! Gorham is a very talented team and came within a couple plays of beating McAuley earlier this year. The Rams are always very tough at home, so this will be a big test for the girls.
