Once again, TA showed its stellar defense, holding McAuley to 31 points. Trailing by 3 at halftime (14-11), the Trojans found a way in the second half, outscoring the Lions 30-17, to earn the 41-31 victory. Senior, Abby Strickland, had one of her best games of the season as she scored 12 points and locked up McAuley's major interior threat, Jess Willerson. Victoria Lux had some early foul trouble but still managed another double-double (10 points, 11 rebounds), and was also named the recipient of the McMahon Award, given to the tournament's outstanding player/sportsmanship. It was one of the most memorable night's in the history of TA Girls Basketball and the crowd at the Cross Insurance Arena was loud and proud.
